First Time Flyers

Your first flight awaits.

Never flown before? Perfect. Our instructors will have you floating like a pro — no experience, no jumping, just pure freefall.

New to iFLY?

So you want something different…

Something exciting for the family. Something unforgettable for date night. Something you'll still be talking about long after you leave.

Skip the movie, the mini golf, and the same old dinner reservation. At iFLY Virginia Beach, you'll step into a vertical wind tunnel and feel the rush of real freefall — no airplane, no parachute, no jumping. Just you, the wind, and an expert instructor right by your side. Kids light up, couples can't stop laughing, and everyone walks out with a story (and a certificate) to show off.

Got questions?

Here are the ones first-time flyers ask most. Still curious? We're happy to help.

Contact us
Do I need any experience?

Nope! First-time flyers are our specialty. Your instructor teaches you everything you need in training.

What time do I show up?

You must arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled time if you have 5 or less flyers. Groups of 6+ and Events must arrive 30 minutes early.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes and lace-up sneakers. We provide the flight suit, helmet, and goggles.

Is it safe?

Yes. Every flight is guided by a trained instructor, and you'll learn the basics before you ever enter the tunnel.

Are there any restrictions?

For everyone's safety, please keep these in mind before booking:

Age: Flyers must be 3 years or older.
Weight: 259 lbs maximum.
Pregnancy: Flyers cannot be pregnant.
Casts: No hard casts.
Health: If you've had neck, back, or shoulder issues, please consult your doctor before flying.
Can my friends and family watch?

Absolutely — spectators can watch from right outside the tunnel.

Where to park?

iFLY Virginia Beach does not have its own parking. There is a city parking garage behind us and there are meters around us. City parking requires a fee, and iFLY Virginia Beach does not validate parking. Please allot yourself additional time to find parking in case these are full.

iFLY Virginia Beach does not hold classes should you arrive late. See our FAQ section for associated rebooking policy and fees.
